How redaction works
Why flatten to an image?
A black rectangle drawn on top of live PDF text can often still be copy-pasted or extracted underneath — flattening the whole page to a picture permanently destroys the original text and image data.
Does this affect page quality?
Pages are rendered at high resolution before flattening, so text stays sharp and readable when printed or viewed on screen.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No — redaction happens entirely in your browser. Your PDF never leaves your device.
